Year of Forests
The United Nation declared the year 2011 the International Year of Forest to raise awareness and strengthen the sustainable forest management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests. Forest Year values people`s role in forests and its importance to people.
The Year of Forest is celebrated troughout the world and all year round in every country there are different activites, which focus on people`s actions in forests. We wish to find partners in order to examine the importance of forests for mankind, as well as mans role in forest conservation and use. We would like to gain knowledge of partner countries? forest size and species occurrence. Students draw and write about their studies, produce wooden handicraft and read stories about forest and trees. In the course of the project, a blog showing the results of the studies will be cooperatively created by the partners.
